Kenya’s coast awaits for better days

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, few places have suffered the brunt of its economic impact as the prime tourist destination of coastal Kenya. Its pristine beaches have seen a depressingly low number of visitors, forcing an ever expanding industry into a standstill. Indeed, until November 2021 the country lived under a state-imposed nightly curfew. Of late however, Kenya’s beaches and restaurants, hotels and nights clubs - especially along its coast - have come back to life; at least to a semblance of it. Hopes are up that this is a new beginning for a country worth many, many visits, as these postcards from Malindi, Watamu and Diani show…
